सीएसआईआर-आईएचबीटी में 85वें सी एसआईआर स्थापना दिवस समारोह का आयोजन
सी.एस.आई.आर. -हिमालय जैवसंपदा प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान, पालमपुर में वैज्ञानिक तथा औद्योगिक अनुसंधान परिषद् (सी.एस.आई.आर.) का 85वां स्थापना दिवस समारोह दिनांक 5अक्टूबर 2026 को हर्षोल्लास से मनाया गया। सन् 1942 में भारत की सबसे बड़ी परिषद, सी.एस.आई.आर., की स्थापना हुई थी और इसे विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में अत्याधुनिक ज्ञान-विज्ञान के लिए विश्व भर में जाना जाता है। संपूर्ण भारत में अपनी 37 राष्ट्रीय प्रयोगशालाओं, 39 आउटरीच केंन्द्रो, एक नवाचार परिसर, एवं तीन यूनिट्स के माध्यम से सी.एस.आई.आर. राष्ट्र की सेवा में अपना योगदान दे रहा है।
सी.एस.आई.आर. –आई.एच.बी.टी. के निदेशक डॉ. सुदेश कुमार यादव ने सभी अतिथियों का स्वागत किया और उन्हें इस अवसर पर बधाई दी। उन्होंने सी.एस.आई.आर. की भूमिका पर प्रकाश डालते हुए फ्लोरीकल्चर मिशन, अरोमा मिशन, कंज़र्वेटरी और संस्थान द्वारा खोजी गई नई प्रजातियों के बारे में विस्तार से बताया। उन्होंने विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी के माध्यम से समाज की आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करने पर बल दिया।
समारोह के मुख्य अतिथि डॉ. चिंडी वासुदेवप्पा, वरिष्ठ निदेशक, एफएआरई लैब्स प्राइवेट लिमिटेड, एवं भूतपूर्व कुलपति, एनआईएफटीईएम, कुंडली, सोनीपत, हरियाणा थे। उन्होंने सी.एस.आई.आर. और संस्थान को उनकी शानदार यात्रा के लिए बधाई दी। उन्होंने इस बात पर ज़ोर दिया कि सी.एस.आई.आर. अपनी शुरुआत से ही देश में शोध एवं विकास का एक महत्वपूर्ण स्तंभ रहा है और आत्मनिर्भर भारत के लिए नई-नई उपलब्धियाँ हासिल करने के साथ-साथ वैश्विक भलाई में भी योगदान दे रहा है। उन्होंने संस्थान को उनके प्रयासों के लिए शुभकामनाएँ दीं।

डा. मनोज प्रसाद, निदेशक, ब्रिक-राष्ट्रीय पादप जीनोम अनुसंधान संस्थान, नई दिल्ली समारोह के मुख्य वक्ता थे। उन्होंने प्लांट जीनोम शोध के क्षेत्र में हो रही नई गतिविधियों और विज्ञान व समाज पर इनके प्रभाव के बारे में बात की। उन्होंने मौसम में उतार-चढ़ाव और पोषण सुरक्षा पर ज़ोर दिया, साथ ही देश की उम्मीदों को पूरा करने के लिए कौशल विकास पर भी बल दिया।
इस अवसर पर, संस्थान ने मशरूम और उनसे बनने वाले उत्पादों (वैल्यू एडिशन) के क्षेत्र में हिमालयन माइकोलॉजी रिसर्च इंस्टीट्यूट प्राइवेट लिमिटेड, पालमपुर के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए। साथ ही, जैविक कचरे को खाद में बदलने वाले डीकंपोजर के लिए पालमपुर नगर निगम के साथ एक सामग्री हस्तांतरण करार भी किया गया।

इस कार्यक्रम में संस्थान के उन कर्मचारियों के बच्चों को भी सम्मानित किया गया जिन्होंने विगत वर्ष में खेलकूद में बेहतरीन प्रदर्शन किया था।
स्थापना दिवस समारोह में संस्थान के स्टाफ़, छात्र, मेहमान और आस-पास के संगठनों के अन्य गणमान्य लोगों ने प्रतिभागिता की। सीएसआईआर -जिज्ञासा कार्यक्रम के तहत पीएम श्री केंद्रीय विद्यालय, पालमपुर के 40 छात्र और 2 शिक्षक भी इस कार्यक्रम में शामिल हुए।
The CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, Palampur (HP) celebrated the 85th CSIR Foundation Day on 05 October 2026 on its premises with great joy. Established in the year 1942, CSIR has Pan-India presence with a network of 37 national laboratories, 39 outreach centers, 1 Innovation Complex, and three units.
Dr. Sudesh Kumar Yadav, Director CSIR-IHBT, welcomed all the guests and wished them on the occasion. He highlighted the role of CSIR and detailed about the floriculture mission, aroma mission, the conservatories and the new species discovered by the institute as a part of bioresource conservation and prospection mission. He emphasized meeting the needs of the society through science and technology.
Dr. Ravikrishna Chebolu, Distinguished Scientist and Head of the CSIR-Innovation Complex, Mumbai was the Guest of Honour. He delivered the keynote address on Global Trends in Healthcare and India’s Alignment. Dr. Ravikrishna lucidly expressed the opportunities and advantages that India has in this sector and how it can promote global good. He emphasized the emergence of personalized healthcare and the role of artificial intelligence in this context.
Dr. Chindi Vasudevappa, Senior Director, FARE Labs Pvt. Ltd. and Former Vice Chancellor, NIFTEM, Sonipat, Haryana, was the Chief Guest of the function. He congratulated the CSIR and the institute on its splendid journey. Dr. Vasudevappa highlighted that CSIR has been a pillar of research and development in the country since its inception and continues to provide breakthroughs for a self-reliant India while contributing to global good. He wished the institute the very best in its endeavours.
Dr. Manoj Kumar, Director BRIC-National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi was the key note speaker. He spoke on the latest activities in the field plant genome research and how it is impacting the science and society. He stressed on climate volatility, nutritional security and emphasized skill development for meeting the expectations of the nation.
On the occasion, the institute signed a memorandum of understanding with Himalayan Mycology Research Institute Pvt. Ltd, Palampur in the field of mushrooms and their value addition. Also a material transfer agreement for decomposer for converting organic waste into compost was signed with the Municipal Corporation, Palampur.
The function also saw felicitation of wards of the staff members who had excelled in sports. The celebrations were attended by the staff, students, guests and other dignitaries from the nearby organizations. 40 Students and 02 teachers from PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Palampur attended the function under CSIR -Jigyasa program.
