Molecular Genetics & Genomics –Medicinal & Aromatic Plants; Plantation and commercial Crops; Himalayan Bioresourcses

Our current efforts are to exploit next-generation (NGS) and third-generation sequencing (TGS) technologies to develop high-quality genomic resources, discover genome-wide molecular markers, and implement high-throughput genotyping platforms. By integrating these genomic tools, we aim to unravel the genetic architecture of complex traits, evaluate plant genetic diversity, and construct high-resolution genome maps, thereby enabling genomics-assisted breeding, conservation, and sustainable utilization of tea, stevia, and other high-value plant species native to the north-western Himalayan region.
