High Altitude Microbiology Lab (HAM_Lab): Our research aims at exploring the microbial community from high altitude extreme environments utilizing both culture-dependent and independent approaches. At present, we are unravelling the potential of psychotropic bacteria for bioprospection in various aspects by beginning to maintain its repository of genomic data. The long-term research focus is based on following broad themes:

·Study on bacterial abundance and community composition of the Himalayan glacier with reference to climate change

·Exploration of bacteria from alpine regions of Himalaya for bioprospection
