स्वर्ण क्रांतिका प्रतीक- सगंध गेंदा दिवस का आईएचबीटी में आयोजन
Celebration of Aromatic Marigold Day-Harbinger of Golden Revolution
सीएसआईआर-आईएचबीटी पालमपुर ने 24 मई, 2022 को स्वर्ण क्रांति सगंध गेंदा दिवस का आयोजन किया। इस कार्यक्रम में 36 पंचायत और 14 नगर निगमों सहित पचास सहकारी समितियों के प्रतिनिधियों ने प्रतिभागिता की जिनके साथ लगभग 1000 से अधिक किसान जुड़े हैं। इस कार्यक्रम में विभिन्न सत्रों में इस फसल की पूरी जानकारी दी गई। समारोह का मुख्य आकर्षण हिमाचल प्रदेश के विभिन्न गांवों के सगंधित गेंदे के प्रगतिशील किसानों को बीज वितरण, प्रशिक्षण, व्यावहारिक प्रदर्शन तथा चर्चा रही।
डॉ. संजय कुमार, निदेशक सीएसआईआर-आईएचबीटी, पालमपुर ने बताया में बताया कि कांगड़ा जिला अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजार में पसंदीदा उच्च मांग वाले सुगंधित घटकों के साथ सगंध तेल का उत्पादन करने के लिए उपयुक्त है। सुगंधित फसलों की खेती से उच्च गुणवत्ता वाले सगंध तेल का उत्पादन करके हिमाचल प्रदेश के किसानों अपनी आजीविका बढ़ा सकते हैं। क्षेत्र के छोटे किसान छोटे समूहों का निर्माण कर उच्च लाभ प्राप्त करने के लिए छोटी जोत में फसल उगा कर लाभ प्राप्त कर सकते हैं।टैजेटस माइन्यूटा (सगंधित गेंदा) एक वार्षिक सगंध फसल है। यह पौधा पत्तियों और फूलों में मौजूद अपने सगंध तेल के लिए व्यावसायिक रूप से उगाया और काटा जाता है और इसका उपयोग खाद्य, स्वाद, कॉस्मेटिक, इत्र और औषधीय उद्योगों में किया जाता है। उन्होंने आगे बताया कि सीएसआईआर-अरोमा मिशन के अनतर्गत आज 200 किलो बीज कांगड़ा व चम्बा के किसानों को वितरित किया गया। जिससे 1670 कनाल क्षेत्र के इस फसल की खेती की जा सकती है।
श्री त्रिलोक कपूर, अध्यक्ष, ऊन संघ ने यह आश्वासन दिया कि इन सहकारी समितियों के सभी प्रतिनिधि इन उच्च मूल्य वाली फसलों की खेती के लिए अपने-अपने क्षेत्र में काम करेंगे। उन्होनें पालमपुर एवं आस –पास के किसानों को 70 किलो बीज उपलब्ध कराने के लिए संस्थान का आभार व्यक्त किया। अपने संबोधन में किसानों को ऐसी नगदी सगंध फसलों को लगाने तथा सरकारी योजनाओं को जन-जन तक पहुंचाने के लिए प्रेरित किया।
डॉ. राकेश कुमार, वरिष्ठ प्रधान वैज्ञानिक और कार्यक्रम समन्वयक ने देश की अर्थव्यवस्था के लिए टैजेटस माइन्यूटा फसल की कृषि तकनीक एवं गुणवत्ता युक्त उत्पादन के बारे में चर्चा की। प्रतिभागियों को संबोधित करते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि जब फसल पूरी तरह से खिल जाती है तो प्रति हेक्टेयर लगभग 12 से 15 टन बायोमास और 30 से 45 किलोग्राम तेल प्रति हेक्टेयर प्राप्त किया जा सकता है। पहाड़ी इलाक़ों में उगाये टैजेटस तेल की कीमत 10,000 रुपये से 12,000 रुपये प्रति किलोग्राम के बीच होती है। किसान इस फसल को उगाकर और 5-6 महीने की अवधि मेंटैजेटस तेल का उत्पादन करके प्रति हेक्टेयर 1.2 से 1.5 लाख का शुद्ध लाभ प्राप्त कर सकते हैं, हालांकि पारंपरिक फसलों के मामले में लगभग रु 50,000/हेक्टेयर प्राप्त होता है।
इस माह में सीएसआईआर-अरोमा मिशन फेज II के अन्तर्गत किसानों को 400 किलो सगंधित गेंदा बीज वितरित किया गया। टैजेटस माइन्यूटा 585 कनाल भूमि को कवर करेगा और इससे 350 से अधिक किसानों को लाभ होगा। चम्बा से प्रगति किसान कल्याण समिति सोसायटी के अध्यक्ष श्री पवन कुमार ने भी अपने विचार प्रकट करते हुए बताया कि सिहुंता जिला चंबा की 5 उप-समितियां इस फसल को उगा रही है तथा वर्तमान में प्रत्येक किसान प्रति बीघा भूमि से 15,000 से 20,000 रुपये का शुद्ध लाभ कमा रहा है ।
संस्थान के संकाय सदस्यों ने अपनी प्रस्तुतियों में कृषि तकनीक, बुवाई, स्थल चयन, मिट्टी के नमूने, वृक्षारोपण, वृक्षारोपण तकनीक, पोषक तत्व प्रबंधन, खरपतवार प्रबंधन, कीट प्रबंधन, कटाई, आसवन, भंडारण और तेल की पैकेजिंग आदि के बारे में चर्चा की। निश्चित और प्रतिकूल मौसम की स्थिति और जंगली जानवरों की स्थितियों, आवारा मवेशियों की समस्या, दुर्गम क्षेत्र और उच्च श्रम पर कम शुद्ध लाभ के कारण किसानों ने पारंपरिक खेती की फसलों में अपनी मुख्य समस्याओं पर भी चर्चा की गई। इसे देखते हुए सगंध गेंदेकी फसल एक उपयुक्त विकल्प प्रदान करती है क्योंकि यह इन कारकों से अप्रभावित रहती हैऔर बंजर भूमि को उपयोग में भी लाती है। वैज्ञानिक टीम ने किसानों की समस्याओं पर भी चर्चा की और बुवाई, खेती और कटाई से संबंधित उनके प्रश्नों का समाधान किया।
CSIR-IHBT Palampur organized Aromatic Marigold Day-Harbinger of Golden Revolution on 24th May 2022. In this program representative of fifty cooperative societies including 36 panchayats and 14 Nagar Nigams and Mr. Trilok Kapoor, chairperson wool federation participated. More than 1000 farmers are associated with these societies. In this program, different sessions were organized in which complete information about the crop was provided. The main attraction of this day was seed distribution, training, practical demonstration, and interaction with progressive farmers of Aromatic Marigold from different villages of Himachal Pradesh.
Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Director CSIR-IHBT, Palampur briefed that Himachal Pradesh is suitable to produce essential oil with preferred high demand aromatic constituents in the international market. The cultivation of aromatic crops will be very beneficial for the farmers to enhance their livelihood by producing high-quality essential oil. He also briefed that the institute is working throughout the country and the small farmers of the region can come together and form small clusters and then crops in smaller landholding to get higher benefits. Tagetes minuta (Aromatic marigold) is an annual strongly scented herb. This plant is commercially grown and harvested for its essential oil present in leaves and flowers and commercially used in food & flavor, cosmetic, perfumery, and pharmacological industries. In addition to this, he informed that 200kg seeds of aromatic marigold were distributed today among the farmers of Kangra and Chamba under the CSIR Aroma Mission Phase-II and it will cover about 1670 Kanal land.
Mr. Trilok Kapoor, chairperson, wool federation assured that all the representatives of these cooperative societies will work in their respective regions for the cultivation of these high-value crops. He thanked the institute for providing 70 kg seeds to the farmers in and around Palampur. In his address, he inspired the farmers to plant such cash and aromatic crops and to take the government schemes to the people.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Senior Principal Scientist, and Program Coordinator discussed the good agricultural practices of the Tagetes minuta crop. He discussed about sowing techniques, site selection, plantation techniques, nutrient management, weed management, pest management, harvesting, distillation, storage, and packaging of oil. Addressing the participants, he said that about 12 to 15 tons per hectare biomass and 30 to 45 kg of oil per hectare could be obtained when the crop is harvested at the full blooming stage. The price of Tagetes oil produced from hilly regions varies from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000/kg. Farmers can obtain net returns of 1.2 to 1.5 lakhs per hectare by growing this crop and producing Tagetes oil within a period of 5-6 months, however, in the case of traditional crops net return of around Rs. 50,000/ha is obtained. He informed that during this month 400 kg of aromatic marigold seed was distributed to the farmers under CSIR-Aroma Mission Phase II. Farmers from the Chamba district also participated. Shri Pawan Kumar, a progressive farmer of aromatic marigold from Shiunta, Chmaba informed they are cultivating aromatic marigold since 2016 and at that, at present each farmer earns a net profit of Rs. 15,000 to 20,000 per bigha of land.
Unfavorable weather conditions, wild animals menace, inaccessible areas, and low net profit from traditional crops. Because of these, the aromatic marigold crop provides a suitable alternative as it is unaffected by these factors and also utilizes the barren land. The scientific team also discussed the problems of the farmers and resolved their queries related to sowing, cultivation, and harvesting.
