Seed production studies in different accessions

Seed yield of two accessions was studied under different modes of pollination. Maximum seed yield was obtained in open pollination in Accession II (12.69 g/plant) whereas it was minimum (4.07 g/plant) in self pollination in Accession-I. In hybrid population, the seed produced was 4.79 and 4.80 g/ plant for self and open pollinated respectively suggesting further studies.

In continuation to previous year studies, wheat, barley, lentil and gobhi sarson were intercropped with S. rebaudiana at 45×45 and 60×45 cm spacings. Stevioside and rebaudioside-A productivity is presented (Table 2.2). Maximum stevia and stevioside equivalent yield were obtained when wheat was intercropped with S. rebaudiana. The results over two years consistently
