PLANTATION PROGRAMMES

Plantation programme includes sanction for:

• IRRIGATION
• DRAINAGE
• SHADE
• INFILLING
• REJUVENATION
• INTERPLANTING

The above factors directly contribute to the increase in productivity.

IRRIGATION

With irrigation being provided 15% is taken as the increase in yield over the present average of the garden.

DRAINAGE

For drainage improvement 10% increase in yield is considered over the average of the garden.

SHADE
 
For improvement of shade 5% increase in yield is considered from 2nd year onwards over the average of the garden.

REJUVENATION, INTERPLANTING & INFILLING
For rejuvenation, the cost is being considered based on the number of infills required. Depending on the percentage of vacancies. It has been felt that a flat rate for rejuvenation cannot be practical. Similarly, where interplanting is being given, again the cost is worked out on the basis of each infill. The cost for infill is being given for 4 years.
